This post is slightly out of order, but going back and forth from electronics to mechanical assembly on the plastruder, or printer head, starts to muddy the sequence of assembly. This was easily the most fun part to build. It feels and looks like you are building some sort of secret miniature weapon from the future. I couldn’t stop posing it for pictures on my table as if it were a tiny robot or weapon. It pained me to wrap the beautiful design of the heated business end in the ceramic tape and funky orange tape. Wrapping it all up neatly is necessary but, what a shame.
After researching all the RepRap models and forked project after forked project, one thing was clear. This MK5 Printer Head – is WAY out in front of the competition for great design. I was impressed.
