Brook Drumm wins Wired.Com Fueling Innovation Contest

Thanks to the phenomenal support of our fans, backers, friends and supporters, Brook is the first winner of Wired.com and Mercedes-Benz’s Fueling Innovation contest!

The contest, designed to identify the top ten innovators who are paving engineering’s future, selected Brook in their first round for his invention: the Printrbot. Despite being stacked up against nine other exceptional inventors, the Printrbot received astonishing support and dedicated voting throughout the contest, especially on Kickstarter.com, where backers encouraged one another to vote and spread the word about 3D printing.  The result was that towards the end of the contest, Brook’s vote “fuel gauge” was literally off the chart.

As promised, the $2500 prize will go toward five Printrbot+ printers that will be donated to five schools. Stay updated for the contest announcement that will determine the lucky schools.

Congratulations to Brook on this distinguished recognition, and our sincerest thanks to everyone for voting.
