FAQ

I’m having trouble completing my purchase.  I’m in the U.S. and am getting ”Sorry, it seems that there are no available shipping methods for your location (United States). If you require assistance or wish to make alternate arrangements please contact us.”  What do I do?

Make sure that you have selected the country in both places where it is required.  And, make sure to use only the 5 digit zip code and not the full 9 digit code.

What are my options for shipping and what are the differences?

At this time, we ship everything via Unites States Postal Service.

Domestic United States:

First-Class – The package must way 13 oz. or less.  Takes 2-4 business days.

Standard Post (a.k.a. Parce Select) – Takes 4-10 business days.

Priority Mail – Takes 2-4 business days.

International:

Priority Mail International – Takes 6-12 business days

Express Mail International – Takes 5-8 business days

*** All of these times are approximate.  Particularly for international packages, things can get held up in customs or other places along the way.

Recommendations:

Printrbot highly recommends Priority Mail for kits and assembled ‘bots.  First, it gets to you faster – the less travel days for an assembled ‘bot in particular the better. Second, tracking is automatically included.  Combine that with the fact that Printrbot ships kits and assembled ‘bots with Signature Confirmation (only available for domestic US) and you have good tracking with the assurance that your precious order will not be left at the door unattended.

Printrbot highly recommends Express Mail international for all kits or assembled ‘bots because they tend to move through customs faster and arrive at the destination considerably faster than Priority international.

The cost of each shipping method is automatically calculated upon checkout and depends on distance and weight.

If an item says “in stock” but also has a “wait time” in red lettering on the page, what does that mean?

The red lettering is the accurate wait time for the products that have a wait time. “In stock” means we are selling the product (not that it ships immediately).

How do I know when my item has been shipped?

You will receive an email notification from “no-reply@printrbot.com” – please make sure this email is an approved email if you have a spam folder or software that may block the emails. The email will include tracking information. Your order will also appear as “completed” on your account page after it has shipped.

How do I know if Printrbot ships to my country?

At this time, Printrbot ships to every country except for Russia.

How much will shipping cost to my country?

Shipping fees are based on the speed you select as well as the weight of the package. The fees are automatically calculated as you checkout.

Who pays for importing taxes or other related fees?

The customer is responsible to pay for all fees related to importing or taxes at the local customs office. Printrbot marks items as “merchandise” and puts the value of each item on the customs form.

Does Printrbot have a CE sign on their electronics?

Our power supplies have several CE signs that comply with different countries’ requirements. Our electronics boards do not have a CE sign.

What is the status of my order?

The status of your order will be marked “processing” if we have successfully received payment and you are in our shipping queue. Most non-kit or assembled units (such as filament, hot ends, cables, and wooden accessories) ship in 3 business days or less.

What is your refund/return policy?

Do I need the glass for the heated bed? If so, why don’t you sell it?

The glass is completely optional. We prefer kapton tape which we do sell in our store. If you decide to buy glass, you can buy it at a hardware store – buy ordinary 3mm glass cut to size.

Do the Printrbot kits come with everything I need to start printing?

Yes, the kits include absolutely everything you need to begin printing.
