MADE IN SPACE (madeinspace.us) is a new company exploring additive manufacturing (3D Printing) to produce components for the aerospace industry.
They also tested at least three 3D printers on multiple zero-gravity flights provided by NASA’s Flight Opportunities Program. They are partners with 3D Systems, so they tested one of their printers. They also mention another “off-the-shelf model and a custom built model.
I was curious what printer they tested and looked through the photos on their website…. looks like MakerBot is soaring high in more ways than one. Check out the photos after the break… is that a CupCake?
